ACDelco Welcomes R.O. Writer, Adds WISEConnect to Help Make Shop Owners’ Jobs Easier

GRAND BLANC, MICH. — ACDelco’s comprehensive eBusiness suite – designed to help make distributors’, shop owners’ and technicians’ jobs easier – has expanded again, offering even more electronic options to streamline ordering, distribution and service processes for Independent Service Centers (ISCs) and parts distributors.

ACDelco WISEConnect is ACDelco’s newest eBusiness tool addition. Like the already existing Web Integrated Service Environment (WISE) and WISE Internet Parts (WIP), WISEConnect is a Web-based application that links shop owners directly to an ACDelco Warehouse Distributor (WD) via the Internet. Similarly, it lets ACDelco customers check inventory and order parts online anytime, and provides comprehensive cataloging and fast parts access.

The additional advantage of ACDelco WISEConnect is that it’s available to ISCs that utilize the R.O. Writer™ Shop Management System.

“ACDelco welcomes Progressive Automotive Systems Inc., the developers of the R.O. Writer Shop Management System, to the ACDelco family. They’re our newest vendor and offer a premier shop management system with some of the highest penetration in the market,” said Steve Sigg, ACDelco eBusiness manager. “With ACDelco WISEConnect, R.O. Writer customers will now be able to order from ACDelco Warehouse Distributors.”

The addition of the R.O. Writer WISEConnect interface enhances ACDelco’s already strong market position, allowing customers to integrate with multiple shop management systems. In addition to R.O. Writer, ACDelco is working with vendor Mitchell 1 to provide access to ACDelco WISEConnect to its customers – who already have access to ACDelco WISE and WIP – by the end of the year.

ACDelco WISEConnect links shops directly to their ACDelco parts suppliers so they can check inventory and pricing, and order parts. Shop owners can check multiple branches for the parts they need and order them online. WISEConnect also enables them to look up labor times, allowing them to add parts and labor simultaneously to their estimates or repair orders.

Fully integrated with the R.O. Writer Shop Management System, WISEConnect allows subscribers to view additional parts information and related and recommended parts. WISEConnect also features an online catalog that is updated daily, versus an onboard catalog that is updated quarterly on a CD.

WISEConnect also gives shop owners access to the ACDelco ePromotions dashboard so they can participate in electronic promotions from both ACDelco and their parts supplier, with real-time purchase feedback on the ACDelco dashboard. The dashboard tracks ACDelco and WD ePromotions and provides users with their purchase history.

“The ePromotions dashboard actually looks like the dashboard of a car,” Sigg said. “Anyone using WISE, WIP or WISEConnect has access to that dashboard and can register for any or all of the ePromotions for which they’re eligible. The real-time feedback is exceptional; as soon as a part is ordered, the dashboard will show it.

“To our knowledge, ACDelco is the only one in the aftermarket that does anything like this,” Sigg added.
